Bush Foreign Policy Fails

President Bush tells us that Iraq is on the right track.  That is what he wants us to believe.  The facts are that there are daily kidnappings, weekly beheadings and no-go zones in many areas where it is too dangerous for our troops to go.  Things are going much worse than he would have us believe.

Mr. Bush says that the press is under reporting the successes in Iraq.  Perhaps this is because reporters are worried about being kidnapped or killed when they leave the few safe areas that exist.  When they do not see any it is a hard coming up with the positive stuff the President would have them report.

The CIA has made some pretty gloomy predictions about where the stability of Iraq is going, including a possible civil war.  Mr. Bush is choosing to ignore these warnings just as he ignored the intelligence agencies before the war when they warned him that their information was not confirmed.

This President brags that he does not waver, or change his mind and insists on continuing on his set course.  His set course has failed both the US and the Iraqi people.  His policies are not working and he needs to change course, but he is too stubborn or stupid to see this.

If Mr. Bush is re-elected he has promised us he will do more of the same.  Promising to pursue a failed policy in Iraq shows that the President does not deserve to be re-elected.  Prior to the war he failed to build a real coalition, he failed to pursue diplomacy, he failed in his responsibility to only send our troops to war as a last resort, and he failed to understand the limitations of our intelligence community.  Mr. Bush has failed at foreign policy, he has failed our troops and he has failed the nation.  The clear choice is to fail to reelect him.
