Fundamentalist Jihad Must End
Radical Christian
fundamentalist Pat Robertson’s resent call for killing Venezuela’s elected
President, Hugo Chavez, shows once again that extreme religious views can be
very dangerous, regardless of the religion they are associated with. Unfortunately this is just another in a series
of exceedingly dangerous views this so-called Christian leader has spewed over
the years.
If the slanted evangelical
were a Muslim he would be arrested and sent to Guantanamo as an enemy combatant. In Pat Robertson’s case, he not only gets to
stay out of jail but he gets to stay on TV continuing to incite murder and
leading prayers for the early demise of our Supreme Court Justices.
On numerous occasions the
very reverend Robertson has called for keeping the Ten Commandments in our
court houses – presumably to keep God’s laws in our courts. One has to wonder if Pat has ever read them;
since one of those commandments is “Thou shalt not kill”. Apparently Pastor Roberson has put himself
above God’s laws, and he now considers himself the guy (or is it God?) that
gets to decide exceptions to these commandments. I hope most Christians (and everyone else)
would disagree with this radical departure from the teachings of the Bible and
will call for Robertson to be removed from the airwaves.
