The Opinion Page
It's the political season again and my editorial juices are flowing. Now you get to see the letters that inspire my ire. Our local paper, The Everett Herald, has their letters on the Internet. I get copies to include with my rebuttals. Some of my responses have been printed in the paper, others I just wrote to express myself.
If you don't know from my other writings I am a Liberal and not too shy about it. I give Conservative views a hard time, they deserve it. For the most part I find Conservative thinking to be harsh, uncaring and selfish. Now that I have turned off half the readers who might see this, I would hope that even if you do not agree with me on anything that you would at least take the time to read these ideas. I try to attack ideas, not people, but I slip sometimes. In the name of fairness I have included the opposing letters unedited.
I have been writing a lot of letters to the editor about my discontent with the Bush administration. In order to make it easier for the FBI to find all my seditious papers I have combined them at the following link;
Here are some of the editorials I have written that do not necessarily relate to politics or at least don't particularly bash Mr. Bush directly
A Necessary Rebuttal
Another writer put this letter in the paper -- Once you read it you will see why I had to respond.
Mr. Wilkinson's opinion, Stop Backing Gore
Here is my rebuttal, Thanks Mr. Wilkinson, after this one was printed I got a call telling me how much they agreed with me (I need an unlisted number).
What About Cats
As the title suggests, What About Cats?
Personal Freedoms
First is a call for Conservatives to at least be consistent. This letter has not been printed anywhere but here (yet).
The Presidents Series
This guy blames Democratic Presidents for everything; somehow I see it differently.
Here is Mr. Eggerman's opinion; Democratic Presidents
Here is my rebuttal; Republican Presidents
Two other rebuttals were printed in response to Mr. Eggerman's letter, but alas not mine (I think it was the reference to the myth of Reagan that keep it out of print).
School Taxes
A good Conservative has never seen a tax they like, apparently not even for schools.
Here is Mr. Johnson's opinion; School Editorial
Here is my rebuttal; Local School Funding Works, this one got printed
Slave Reparations
An essay that discusses the logic of why I am against reparations.
An Argument Against US Slave Reparations
Cloning
Where do you stand on cloning -- you won't have to guess where I stand after reading this little outburst.
Income Taxes Anyone?
Here's a very simple plan that would make everyone's life easier.
